Robert Dickinson


William “Robert” Dickinson, 94, of Spiro, OK passed away Sunday, February 21, 2021 in Spiro.  Robert was born January 31, 1927 in Shady Point, OK to Jack & Gladys (Jones) Dickinson.  He graduated from Panama High School in 1945.  With WWII going on, Robert joined the military and served in the Army.  After returning stateside, he continued his education at Eastern State College and Northeastern State College, where he finished with a Master's degree.  Robert began his career at Pocola, OK in 1950, where he was employed as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent.  He loved teaching and enjoyed his students.  Robert retired from Pocola Schools after 36 years and enjoyed fishing and gardening for many years.  Robert was also an active Sunday School teacher and deacon at Spiro First Baptist Church for a number of years.   He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Corrine Sperber and her husband Bernard.

 Survivors include his wife Lorane;  daughter & son in law, Phyllis & Jerry Killion; grandchildren, Brent Robert & Shontel Daniel, Lori & David Bigley; great grandchildren, Kenzie & Dalton Summers, Brittany Daniel; nephew, Michael Sperber & wife Becky; other relatives, loved ones and friends.

JC REMY

               JC Corman Remy, 76, of Panama Oklahoma passed away Sunday February 21, 2021 with family by his side in Ft Smith AR.   JC was born November 15th 1944 in Magazine Arkansas to Eddie and Lillian. He joined the army when he was 17 and served in Viet Nam. He returned home and joined the National Guard where he served for 20 years. He worked in the maintenance department at Whirlpool Corporation for 34 years and retired in 2003.

          It was at Whirlpool that he met and married his wife Sharon in 1975. In their 45 years of marriage, they had two children Jayce and Jason and 7 grandchildren. While he had many hobbies, his favorite thing was spending time with his grandkids.

JC was also a 32nd degree Mason and was an active member for 36 years.  He was member of the Murrow, Poteau, and Mosholatubbee lodges (where he was current Worshipful Master).

          He was preceded in death by his father Eddie Remy, mother Lillian Cox, sisters Dorothy Hicks, Rene Fish, and nephew Dewayne Garner.

          He is survived by his wife Sharon Remy, daughter Jayce Hamilton and husband Scott of Panama, son Jason Remy and wife Brandi of Van Buren, grandchildren KayLee Hamilton, Garrett Hamilton, Kason Hamilton, Jaxon Remy, Brennon Remy, Bennett Remy and Beckett Remy, sister Deloris Garner and many nieces and nephews.

          Graveside services will be 10 am, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Dog Creek Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Dennis James, Jaxon Remy, Garrett Hamilton, Eddie Butler, Ted Kilgore, Bill Maxwell and Travis Sumpter.

    The family will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Jessie James "Jay" Johnson

      

Services for Jay will be 10 am, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Dog Creek Church with Pastor Jim Graham officiating.

          Jessie James Johnson “Jay” was born March 4, 1945 in Dog Creek, OK to Clarence & Della (Ritter) Johnson and passed away February 17, 2021 in Dog Creek at the age of 75.

          Jay is survived by two brothers, Roy Johnson of Panama, OK and Vernon Johnson & wife Beckie of Dog Creek, OK; nephews, Eddie Johnson & wife Debbie of Spiro, OK,  Timothy Johnson & wife Kim; niece, Melinda Lamberson & husband Jack of Dog Creek, OK; great nephews &  nieces, George, Roy, Vernon, Samuel and Jess Johnson, Erika Cobb and Marissa Cobb,  Sherry Harper, Jennifer Hensley, Kenny Dale Lovell, Tiffany Jones, Amanda Lamberson, Kaitlyn Johnson & Timothy Johnson Jr,; special friend, Bud Morgan of Wister, OK; many other family and loved ones.  Jay was preceded in death by his parents; nephew, Roger Johnson; brother Clyde  his wife Katie; first wife, Nancy Johnson and second wife, Vera Johnson; and a great great nephew.  Jay was a mechanic and raised livestock.

         

Charles Newton Beshers

 


    Charles Newton Beshers was born in Van Buren, AR on September 27, 1943 to Tommy and Stella Beshers and passed away on February 19,  2021 at OSU Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Charles is preceded in death by parents Tommy and Stella Beshers, siblings Wanda English, Harvey Beshers, Leon Beshers, Betty Sue Featherston and son, Wayne Beshers.

          Charles is survived by wife of 58 years Mary Ann Beshers, siblings Brenda Newby, Barbara Davis, Eugene Beshers;  Children,  Megan Monks, Delissa Hamilton, and five grandchildren. Charles worked at Whirlpool in Fort Smith and retired in 2004 after 35-1/2 years. After retirement, Charles enjoyed spending time with his family, hunting, and working part time as a driver for PTI in Heavener, OK.

          Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Oakland Cemetery Pavilion, Poteau with Jim Cook officiating.  Pallbearers will be Alex Dotson, Blake Dotson, Mason Hughart, Daniel Monks, Jerry Hopkins and Hunter Hopkins.

Ricky Latta


Ricky Joe Latta, 67, of Poteau, OK passed away February 11, 2021 in Ft. Smith, AR.  Ricky was born June 6, 1953 in Poteau to Allen & Ruby (Stuart) Latta.  He was a truck driver.  Ricky loved fishing, hunting and being surrounded by close friends and loved ones.  He was preceded in death by his father; mother Ruby L. Ray; and wife, Pam Latta.

 

Survivors include his daughter, J.J. Jordan; granddaughter, Sydney Watson; great granddaughter, Southerlynn Thompson; special cousin, Linda Johnson and husband Theo; cousins, James Stuart & wife Pam, Marilyn Nichols; other relatives, loved ones and many friends.

 

Services will be 2 pm, Monday, February 15, 2021 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau.  Burial will be at Centerpoint Cemetery, Arkansas.

The family will be at the funeral home on Sunday, February 14 from 2-4 to visit with relatives & friends.
