Earl C. Seaton

Earl C. Seaton, 88, of Spiro, OK passed away Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Spiro. Earl was born October 7, 1923 in Lavaca, AR to O.H. & Elvia (Wise) Seaton. He was a veteran of the US Army. Earl was a mechanic, working at Turman-Pierce for years. He was a farmer & rancher. Earl was a wonderful father & grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Betty of the home; daughters & son in law, Sharan & Michael Greer of Wister, OK, Debbie Seaton of Panama, OK; sons & daughters in law, Larry & Jackie Seaton of Glenrose, TX, Keith & Imogene Seaton of Howe, OK; 6 grandchildren and ‘almost’ 14 great grandchildren; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be 2 pm, Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau. Floyd Russell Clinton

Floyd Russell Clinton, 65, of Rock Island, OK passed away Friday, April 27, 2012 in Fort Smith, AR. Floyd was born April 3, 1947 in Stilwell, OK to Charlie Sherman & Mary Lou (Green) Clinton. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a mechanic. Floyd was preceded in death by his father; mother, Mary Irwin; and grandson, Greyson Hunt. Survivors include his daughters, Kim Allen, Kelly Hunt, Ellisa Hollinger, Angela Clinton all of Poteau, OK, Crystal Decker of Van Buren, AR, Shawna Lamb of Alma, AR; several grandchildren; brother, Willie Clinton of Hodgen, OK; sisters, Leta Sharp of Midland, AR, Leona Stiger of Panama, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, May 1, 2012 graveside at Ellis Chapel Cemetery, Wister, OK with Rev. Jim Cook officiating. Interment will follow. Dorthy A. Williams

Dorthy Ann Williams, 84, of Pocola, OK passed peacefully at home with her family on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 in Pocola. Dorthy was born March 15, 1928 in Ft. Smith, AR to Albert Lee & Elva (Howard) Beshears. She worked in Civil Service for 24 years and retired from the FAA Center in Oklahoma City after serving for 19 years. Dorthy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donnie Beshears; son in law, Don DeSelms; grandson in law, Stephen Medley. Her love for her family and her faith is a legacy that her children and grandchildren cherish and value. Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Edgar of the home; 2 daughters & son in law, Sherry & Randy Gunter of Ft. Smith, AR, Sally DeSelms of Pocola, OK; 4 sons & 2 daughters in law, Richard & Rennie Williams of Panama, OK, Randall & Karen Williams, David Williams, Daniel Williams all of Pocola, OK; 15 Grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren; 2 sisters, Betty Williams of Pocola, Connie Cloud of Spiro, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; and many beloved friends. Services will be 2 pm, Monday, April 30, 2012 at Evans Memorial Chapel, Pocola, OK. Interment will be in Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola. Keith Steelman, 51, of Monroe, OK passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Monroe. Keith was born October 19, 1960 in Poteau, OK to Clyde Sr. & Marie Davis Steelman. He was a truck driver. Keith was preceded in death by his father. He loved coon hunting. Beatrice Morgan "Bea" Loughridge

Beatrice Morgan Loughridge, 89, of Oklahoma City, OK (formerly of Wister, OK) went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 19th, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. Bea was born on December 2nd, 1922 to John Dennis and Nora Bell Morgan. Bea was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Poteau, OK where she had lived with her husband for 28 years. Bea was a retired elementary school teacher and librarian. She enjoyed playing the piano, particularly for church services, as well as gardening, sewing, and cooking. As the wife of a Nazarene pastor, she loved working in the church, visiting church members and friends, and helping those in need. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bill Loughridge, and sister, Lucille Branscum. Bea is survived by her sister, Sue Grooms; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Larry and Midge Loughridge and Steve and Vickie Loughridge; four grandchildren, Ryan, Robyn, Brannon, and Lauren; three great-grandchildren, Emily, Brody, and Bryce; and numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and loved ones; and a host of beloved friends and church family. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Poteau, Ok at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Wayne and Eddie Stark will officiate the service. Interment will follow at Ellis Chapel Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Evans and Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK. Pallbearers are Gene Branscum, Maurice Branscum, Hugh Branscum, Brannon Loughridge, Ryan Loughridge, and Michael Ross. The family will be at the funeral home on Monday evening from 7-9 pm to visit with relatives & friends.

Lenora A. Morsund, 78, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012 in Heavener, OK. Lenora was born August 20, 1933 in Cameron, OK to J.H. & Gussie (Sharp) Higginbotham. She was a homemaker. Lenora was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, John Morsund. She worked in the craft/fabric department at Walmart for over 20 years. She loved her family very much and her church family. She loved to read her Bible, finding strength from the scriptures. She loved nature and seeing the flowers bloom. Hemphill. Ik Cha “Nina” Kirkland, 77, of Calhoun, OK passed away Saturday, April 7, 2012 in Heavener, OK. Nina was born November 24, 1934 in Pusan, Korea to Mr. Han Kun Pak and Ms. Hong Chu Yi, both of South Korea. Nina lived the past 40 plus years in Calhoun. She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Eben L. , and a son, Patrick. She is survived by 3 sons, Mike and wife Bobbie of Bartlesville, OK, Ed and wife, Crystal of Wister, OK, Lindsey of Bartlesville, OK; daughter, Sandy Golden and husband, Josh of Bartlesville, Ok. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandon, Corby, Logan, Zachary, Connor, Sawyer, and great granddaughter, Braylie; special friends, Patty Blaylock and Teagan Tony; many other beloved family and friends. Rudolph Carpenter, 81, of Wister, OK passed away Sunday, April 1, 2012 in Wister. Rudy was born July 12, 1930 in Red Oak, OK to Walter C. & Lydia (Dodd) Carpenter. He was a veteran of the US Army. Rudy owned a barber shop in Wister for over 50 years. He had cut as many as 5 generations of the same family’s hair.
