Stanley "Pop" Branch, 64, of Poteau, OK passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010, in Ft. Smith, AR. Stanley was born July 29, 1945 in Stidham, OK to Henry & Mary (Edwards) Branch. He was a devoted Christian & a member of Broadway Church of Christ in Poteau. He was a loving husband, father. grandfather, brother, uncle, & friend. Stanley was know to many as "Pop". He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family. He was a machinist. Barbara Rae Boyette, 57, of Shady Point, OK passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2010 in Tulsa, OK. Barbara was born October 3, 1952 in Princeton, TX to Waylon Rae & Anna Lois (Langston) Mounger. She was a CNA. Barbara was preceded in death by her father; son, Daniel Judge; sister, Ann Boyette; & first husband, Rusty Judge. Nellie Jo Woodson, 74, of Shady Point, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, April 20, 2010in Shady Point. Nellie was born on July 17, 1935 in Milton, Oklahoma to Fred & Malicie Bailey. She married Jess Robert Woodson on October 3, 1953 and they were married for 33years, Nellie was employed by Whirlpool Corporation for 21 years before her retirement. Nellie enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, and dancng. She loved being with her children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. Her husbsnd Jess Robert Woodson; her parents, 2 brothers, Bill I& Harold Bailey; 3 sisters, Myrtle Tolbert, Beulah Sides, & Mary Beutelschies; and a number of nieces & nephews preceded her in death. Lee "Dickie" Vaughn, 74, of Wister, OK passed away Thursday, April 22, 2010 in Poteau, OK. Dickie was born August 31, 1935 in Wichita Falls, TX to Lee & Pearl (Britton) Vaughn. He was a veteran of the US Air Corp serving in Korean Conflict 1951-1953; retired LeFlore County Employee, Retired Pastor of Mt. View Baptist Church where he served for 18 years. Robert Marion Allen, 68, of Poteau, OK passed away Sunday, April 18, 2010 in Poteau. Robert was born in Williams, OK on December 30, 1941 to Oren D. & Margaret (Ray)Allen. Robert was a member of First United Methodist Church of Poteau, OK. He was a lineman for OG&E until his retirement after 241/2 years of service; a 32nd Degree Mason, and was a Poster Child for the March of Dimes in 1953-1954 (He was a polio survivor) Robert loved bowling, coaching baseball & watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals & OU sports. He was preceded in death by his parents & 1 sister, Doris Kelley. Wesley was born on May 16, 1931 in Wister, Oklahoma to Roy & Tennessee (Johnson) Davidson. Buck was a veteran of the US Army serving in Korea and a retired coal miner. Margaret Moreau Reid

Margaret Moreau Reid,79, of Poteau, OK passed away April 12, 2010. Ms. Reid was born September 16, 1930 in Jackson, MS, to Rev. William Edward & Margaret Power Moreau. She attended schools in Fernandina Beach, FL, Jackson & French Camp, MS where she graduated from high school in 1947. Margaret graduated from Lyon College in Batesville, AR in 1947, & attended graduate schools at Mississippi State University & the University of South Carolina. She married the late Herbert Paul Reid of Union, SC in November 1952. For many years, Margaret taught at Terrell's Bay High School, Centenary, SC. AS a lifelong Presbyterian, she served her church in several roles, as a teacher, as an Elder, as superintendent of Sunday Schools, & as an active member of several nurture groups. Her never-wavering faith and the support of family & church gave her great strength to overcome many losses during her lifetime, beginning with the tragic death of her father when she was only six years old. She gave as much or more than she received. After the death of her husband, Margaret joined the family of her late sister, Jane Moreau Moudy. Although she never had children of her own, she played important roles in developing the lives of young people through her teaching, care of nephews, & guardianship of James Moudy, Jane's adopted son. She shared that duty with her great friend & loving caregiver, Joanna Moudy Anderson of Heavener, OK. James is completing a degree at Carl Albert State College. Margaret is survived by her brother, David H. Moreau and his wife Polly of Chapel Hill, NC; 3 sisters in law, Eleanor Babb of Bishopville, SC, Tillie Reid & Virginia Smith, both of Union, SC and many nieces & nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Friday, April 16, 2010 at First Presbyterian Church, Poteau, OK. Burial will be at a later date in Union, SC. Buddy loved St. Louis Cardinal baseball, Poteau Pirate Football, and the OU Sooners. He loved bowling at Lucky Lanes. Buddy served for 3 years in Germany in the US Army. Jocile was the loving mother of Charlotte Anne Mehuron and mother-in-law of Bill Mehuron. She is survived by two grandchildren, Sue Gibbons of Western Springs, IL and Geoff Nyheim of Hinsdale and their spouses John Gibbons and Nancy Nyheim. She had seven great grandchildren: Megan, Heather and Caroline Nyheim and Conor, Grace, Griffen and Delaney Gibbons. She is survived by one older sister, Eunice Turman of Poteau, OK numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. She was born in Greenwood, AR on September 8, 1918, the daughter of Matt & Ida Camp. She had two other sisters and six brothers, all deceased. She spent much of her life in Northern California and the last three years near her daughter and grandchildren in Illinois. Funeral services were held in Hinsdale on Saturday, April 10. She will be buried in Poteau, OK. Visitation will be at Evans & Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. Graveside services will be held 11 am, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Oakland Cemetery pavilion in Poteau, OK with interment following.

Michael Don "Mike" Wright

Michael Don "Mike" Wright, 55 of Amarillo, TX passed away Sunday, April 11, 2010 in Amarillo. Mike was born in Fayetteville, NC on September 14, 1954 to Kenneth & Virginia (Sykes) Wright Sr.. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Kenneth Wright Jr. Survivors include his mother, Virginia Sykes Wright of Pocola, OK, sister, Brenda Simco of Litchfield, Nebraska and nephew, Daniel Simco; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Funeral services will be held 10 am, Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Evans Memorial Chapel in Pocola, OK with Rev. Gene Thomas and Rev. James Ogden officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery, Pocola. Pallbearers will be Daniel Simco, Kenny Pipkins, Roy Walker, Tom Pipkins, Johnny Pipkins, and Aaron Pipkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Sykes, Joe Sykes, Charles Pipkins, Bud Williams, Dave Pipkins and Billy Sykes.

Mary Katheryn Keck

Mary Katheryn Keck, 78, of Calhoun, OK passed away Thursday, April 1, 2010 in Calhoun. Mary Katheryn was born April 8, 1931 in Calhoun, OK to Pierce & Maddie (Hill) Keck. She taught school in Calhoun and Keota for 54 years until her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Duncan Keck. She is survived by her nephew, Billy Keck; numerous cousins; other relatives & friends. Services will be held 2 pm, Monday, April 5, 2010 at Evans Chapel of Memories, Poteau, OK with Rev. Tommy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Point Cemetery, Shady Point, OK. Pallbearers will be Elmer Bowden, Terry Monks, Daniel Monks, Wes Weaver and Lee Bowden
