Anthony Warren

Anthony Warren, 62, of Poteau, OK passed away Monday, March 29, 2010. He was born December 20, 1947 in San Fransisco, CA to Levi and Ollie Warren. Anthony loved to listen to music, dance, watch TV and hit a few notes every once in a while. He was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include his mother, Ollie Jenkins; siblings, Doris Forrest, Vivian Warren, and Lavern Warren. Also his uncle, Andrew Byrd. He leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends. Services will be held 11 am, Saturday, April 3, 2010 graveside at Centerpoint Cemetery in Muldrow, OK. Interment will follow.

Robert Dean Lukenbill

Robert Dean Lukenbill, 77, of Panama, OK passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 in Poteau, OK. Robert was born April 4, 1932 in Hardwood, MO to Fred & Mary Evelyn Lukenbill. He played baseball for the St. Louis Cardinals until he was injured. He then worked for the US Postal service for 33 years until his retirement. He loved fishing, gardening, yard work & watching football games. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnni Lukenbill; wife of 25 years, Patricia Lukenbill, parents, Fred & Mary Evelyn Lukenbill, 4 brothers, Charlie, Roger, Elmer, & Dave Lukenbill; and a sister, Mary Lukenbill. Survivors include his wife, Ethel Lukenbill of the home, 2 sons & daughter in law, Robert Dean Jr. & Sherri Lukenbill of Independence, MO, Chester Lukenbill; grandson & wife, Robert Dean III & Michelle Lukenbill of Iowa; great grandson, Robert Dean Lukenbill IV; great granddaughters, Abigail Lukenbill of Iowa, Ashley Lukenbill of Independence, MO, Tracy Wilson & husband Jon of Clinton, MO; great great granddaughter, Samantha Wilson of Clinton, MO; brothers & sisters in law, Jack & Alice Lukenbill, Frank & Susan Lukenbill; sisters & brothers in law, Marge & Don Hamontree of Nevada, MO, Sharon Lukenbill, Linda Lukenbill; other relatives & Loved ones; many beloved friends. The family will be at the funeral home from 5-7 pm, on Thursday evening to visit with family and friends.

Carl Jackson Jr., 82, of Pocola, OK passed away Monday, March 29, 2010 in Pocola. Carl was born in Monroe County, MS on February 6, 1928 to Carl & Necie (Riding) Jackson. He served in the US Navy for over 30 years; and was a veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. She was a member of the First Step of Faith Church in Poteau. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence William Baldwin on 11/1/2007; her parents and a number of brothers & sisters. Muriel Gene Walker

Muriel Gene Walker, 77, of Pampa, Texas passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010 in Pampa, Texas. Muriel was born on May 24, 1932 in Howe, OK to Thelma Walker & Preston Ray. Muriel was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. After getting out of the Army, he moved to California. Muriel worked as a machinist in the aircraft industry and drove trucks until he retired. Muriel had been a member of Springhill Baptist Church in Monroe, Oklahoma since 1947. Muriel is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Walker of the home; 2 sons & daughter in law, Greg & Pam Walker of Summerfield, OK & Shawn Walker of Arkansas; a daughter, Judy Davis of California; 6 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; his mother, Thelma Horne of Poteau, OK; 3 half brothers & sisters in law, Charles & Carylon Horne of Tulsa, OK, Jim & Judy Horne of Oklahoma City, OK & Bill & Iris Horne of Waxahachie, TX; aunts Christine Harris of Poteau, OK & Geraldine LeGrande of Fresno, CA; uncles & their wives, B.T. & Allene Walker of Shawnee, OK, Kenneth & Frances Walker of Oregon, & Joe & Billie Jean Walker of Missouri; numerous other relatives & loved ones and many beloved friends. Edna Barnes, 73, of Poteau, OK passed away Thursday, March 18, 2010 in Fort Smith, AR. Edna was born in Poteau on October 1, 1936. She was a caregiver/homemaker. Survivors include her granddaughter, Misty Ballard of Poteau, OK; grandson, Aaron Smith of Fort Smith, AR; great grandchildren, August Raelene House & Layton Christian Smith; sister, Eva Maye Zahner; brothers, Pete Irvin and Charles Irvin; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services were held 10 am Monday at Evans Chapel of Memories with Rev. Roger Mattox officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery, Poteau, OK. Pallbearers were Tim Gullick, Mike Ballard, BJ Barnes, Jeff Pivison, Marion Dixon and Alonso Jiminez. Honorary pallbearer was Tony Stacy.

Delbert Lonzo Kirk

Delbert Lonzo Kirk, 78, of Spiro, OK passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2010 in Little Rock, AR. Mr. Kirk was born May 31, 1931 in Summerfield, OK to Lonzo & Opal (Clark) Kirk. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He taught school for 30 years and was an insurance agent for 31 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Panama, OK; a 32nd Degree Mason, member of the Masonic Lodge in Spiro; and a member of the Bedouin Shrine Temple of McAlester, OK. Crystal DeAnn Dance, 31, of Arkoma, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, March 12, 2010 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Crystal was born on December 28, 1978 in Poteau, Oklahoma to William L. & Leola (Smith) Adams. Crystal was a manager in the fast food industry. She graduated from Stigler High School in 1997 where she resided with her loving family, Jon, Dana, JC, George, & Allen Blankenship. She married Michael Dance on August 10, 2001. She is preceded in death by her father; a sister, Debbie Bohanon & a brother Tim Bohanon. Wanda Louise Combs, 75, of Heavener, OK passed away Friday, March 12, 2010 in Heavener. Wanda was born in Hartford, AR on November 15, 1934 to Chalres & Velta Vay(Wilson) McAdoo. She loved sewing, crocheting, swimming, cooking, music, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Earl G. “Skip” Mayer, 59, of Poteau, OK passed away on March 3, 2010 in Talihina, Oklahoma. Skip was born on December 30, 1950 in New Orleans, LA to Roy & Carmelite (Zundel) Dyer. Skip was a decorated Vietnam veteran & a press operator for Kenco Plastics until his retirement. He was of the Catholic faith. Skip loved playing the guitar and singing.
