Billye Florence Humphries

Billye Florence Humphries, 73, of North Las Vegas, NV, formerly of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008 in Huntington Beach, California. Billye was born on December 26, 1934 in Poteau, Oklahoma to Bill & Blanche (Yarbrough) Deaton. She was an administrative assistant for Hughes Aircraft. She wed Dewey Humphries in 1953 at Double Branch Baptist Church in Gilmore, Oklahoma. Billye’s parents and a brother Leon Deaton precede her in death. Billye is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dewey Humphries of the home; 3 children, Stan Humphries of Playa Del Rey, CA; Brad Humphries of Broken Arrow, OK; and Debbie Tanner of Poteau, OK; 4 grandchildren, Elisha Nunley, Sara Slape, Weldon Tanner, & Jesse Humphries; a great grandchild, Emily Nunley; a sister & brother in law, Betty & Odean Nichols of Poteau, OK; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; and many beloved friends. Funeral services for Billye were held at 10:00 am, Friday, September 26, 2008 at Evans Chapel of Memories in Poteau, Oklahoma with the Reverend Jimmy D. Cook officiating. Interment followed the services in Vaughn Cemetery in Gilmore, OK with arrangements under the direction of Evans & Miller Funeral Home of Poteau, OK. Pallbearers were Weldon Tanner, David Slape, Randy Nichols, Ronnie Nichols, David Deaton, & Paul Wilson. The family will be at the funeral home from 6-8 pm Thursday evening to visit with relatives & friends

Kevin Ray Dodson, 43, of Panama, OK passed away Saturday, September 20, 2008. He was born on November 27, 1964 in Oklahoma City, OK to Harold Ray & Betty Marie (Julstead) Dodson. Kevin was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Everette & Esther Dodson and maternal grandparents, Neely “Budo” Julstead & Alta May Julstead. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte “Renea” Dodson; son, Kevin Dodson II, Daughters, Felisha Dodson, Robin Dodson, Stepson, Stephen Frady; stepdaughter, Amanda Samuels; 2 step grandchildren; parents, Harold & Betty Dodson, Sister & Brother-in—law, Amy & Jeff Cagle; nephew, Tyler Cagle, Uncle, Don Julstead; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services were held 10 am, Tuesday, September 23, 2008 graveside at Fairview Cemetery in Panama, OK. Rev. Charles Carry & Rev. Pete Butler officiated. Jewell Lucritia Garrett Jewell Lucritia Garrett, 85, of Arkadelphia, AR, formerly of Monroe, Oklahoma passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Jewell was born on December 24, 1922 in Tamaha, Oklahoma to John & Dollie (Gregory) Evans. Jewell was a longtime member of 1st Baptist Church of Monroe, OK; a lifelong resident of this area and a homemaker. Her son, Jerry Morse; a sister, Opal Hicks; brothers Carmet Evans & Wilford Evans; a brother in law, Carl Hicks and her parents precede her in death. Jewell is survived by a daughter & son in law, Jacqueline Dale & Kenneth Alsup of Lampe, MO; a son & daughter in law, Charles & Cathy Garrett of Arkadelphia, AR; a brother & sister in law, Charles G. & Naomi Evans of Monroe, OK; a sister in law, Hazel Evans of Monroe, OK; granddaughters, Rhonda Lynn Salas, Jennifer Lenore Jones, Jami Dale Howell, Jessica Laine Garrett, & Peytyn Harper Garrett; great grandchildren Britny Sounbandith, Ronnie Sounbandith, James Howell, Garrett Howell, Joseph Howell, Jenna Jones, & Jacob Jones; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones; and a host of beloved friends. Beatrice B. Anderson Beatrice B. Anderson. 82, of Spiro, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, September 19, 2008 at Pocola Nursing Home in Pocola, OK. Beatrice was born on March 30, 1926 in Buck Creek, Oklahoma to Farley Logan & Myrtle (Wiles) York. Bea was a lifelong resident of the area and a lifelong member of the Church of the Nazarene in Panama, OK and a homemaker. Her husband Hugh “Pete” Anderson; 3 sisters; a brother; and her parents precede her in death. Beatrice is survived by a daughter Patricia Nelson of Spiro, OK; 3 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives & loved ones and many beloved friends and church family. Graveside services for Beatrice were held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 22, 2008 at Shady Point Cemetery in Shady Point, OK with interment following the services. Faye O. Carter, 91, of Cameron, OK passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2008 in Arkoma, OK. She was born on November 28, 1916 in Peno, OK to John & Callie Lovett. She was retired from Okla Homer Smith Furniture Mfg.. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Carter, her parents & 11 siblings. Faye is survived by 2 sons, John Carter of Cameron, OK and Ronnie Carter of Tallahassee, FL.; 4 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister, Retha Sparrow of Louisville, AR; other relatives & loved ones; many beloved friends. Services were held 10 am, Saturday, September 20, 2008 at Greenhill Cemetery Pavilion, Cameron, OK with the Rev. Jim Cook officiating. LENA FOLLOWELL

Magdalena “Lena” Followell, 81, of Poteau, Oklahoma passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2008 at her residence in Poteau, Oklahoma. Lena was born on April 4, 1927 in Frankfurt, Germany to Nickodem & Sophie (Klimek) Schill. Lena & her husband, Byron owned restaurants in California before moving to Oklahoma in 1969. After moving back here she worked for Black Angus Restaurant for awhile and then went to work for LC Roy and worked there for a number of years until her retirement. Lena enjoyed cooking, crocheting, knitting, & driving her tractor when she lived on the ranch in Summerfield, OK. In the 1980’s, she & Byron moved to Poteau. Lena was always a hard worker in everything she did—cooking, cleaning, & ranch work. Lena’s husband, Byron Followell; her parents, 3 brothers; and a sister precede her in death. Lena is survived by a daughter & son in law, Gabriele & Marty Lloyd of Red Oak, OK; 2 grandsons, Marty Joe Lloyd Jr. & Corie & wife Tami Lloyd of Kinta, OK; a granddaughter, Rachel Lloyd of Red Oak, OK; 2 great grandchildren, Desiree Lloyd & James Lloyd both of Kinta, OK; her longtime companion, Ben Huginsky of Hartford, CT; numerous other relatives & loved ones; and many beloved friends. Graveside services for Lena were held at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 19, 2008 at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR with the Reverend Jimmy D. Cook officiating. OTHO ALEX 'BUD' WILLIAMS

Otho Alex “Bud” Williams, 78, of Cameron, OK passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born in Witcherville, AR on October 25, 1929 to Clarence & Minnie (Colley) Williams; son Buddie Wayne Williams, & sister Viola Kilgore. Bud was a member of the Cameron First United Methodist Church & a faithful member of Mosholatubbee Masonic Lodge # 13 in Cameron (since 1964). He received the Master Mason Award in 2000. He loved gardening & his family. Survivors include his beloved wife, Alustine Williams of the home; 2 grandsons, Trevor & Brianna Williams of Cameron, OK, Corey & Augusta Williams of Pocola, OK; great grandson, Logan Williams, Daughter in law, Diane Williams of Laverne, OK; 2 brothers, L.D. Williams of Cameron, OK, Robert Williams of Panama, OK; 3 sisters, Bonnie Finchum & Eddie Lee White of Cameron, OK & Clara Crawford of Ft. Robert Charles Daniel, 85 of Spiro, OK passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in Fort Smith, AR. He was born August 18, 1923 in Red Oak, OK to Fred & Martha Jane (Thomas) Daniel. Mr. Daniel was retired from Ft. Chaffee after 15 years Civil Service. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army. He was a member of Murry Spur Free Will Baptist Church in Spiro, OK. From early 1970-1973 he served as a contractor for Self-Help Housing in LeFlore & Latimer Counties.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Daniel of the home

Clara Sue Perry, 96 of Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday September 9, 2008 in Muskogee, OK. Clara was born on January 16. 1912 in Monroe, Oklahoma to William Noal & Anna Cleo (Broderick) Weatherford. She was a schoolteacher. Clara’s beloved husband, Samuel E. Perry; 4 brothers, Foresst, Curtis, Clovis & Mann Weatherford; a sister, Victoria Black; and her parents precede her in death.

Clara is survived by a son & daughter in law, Donal W. & Bea Perry of Wagoner, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Michael W. Perry of Fort Gibson, OK, Alan W. Perry of Muskogee, OK, Michelle K. Howard Burdett Smith, 83, of Shady Point, OK passed away Saturday, September 6, 2008 at his home in Shady Point. He was born in McAlester, OK on December 22, 1924 to Isaac D. & Edith A (Davis) Smith. He was retired from auto body work. He served in the Hawaiian Islands during WWII with the US Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters & 3 brothers. She was born in Wister, OK on October 29, 1914 to Leonard N. & Dora Dell (Cooper) Bohannon, who precede her in death; as well as her husband, Hershel Webb; sister, Glenna Camp & brother, Robert Bohannon. Mrs. Webb was a Pentecostal Church of God minister. She is survived by one son & daughter-in-law, Robert H. & Bobbie Webb of Wister, OK; granddaughter & her husband, Marilyn K. & Joe Johnson of Tuttle, OK; 2 great grandsons, Cameron Jones & Clayton Johnson; numerous other relatives, & loved ones; many beloved friends. Mary ‘Louise’ Williams, 66, of Pocola, OK passed away Saturday, August 30, 2008 in Ft. Smith, AR. She was born in Ft. Smith on November 1, 1941. Louise was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ft. Smith, AR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby L. Wiliams. She was a loving mother, wife, grandmother, & friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed painting, fishing, and being with her loved ones. She lived life to its fullest & will be missed by all who knew her. Robert Charles “Mick” Isaac, Jr., 41, of Sallisaw, passed away Aug. 19, 2008 in Sallisaw. He was born May 3, 1967, in Poteau. He was a factory worker, and was a member of the lakeview Baptist Church of Spiro.Mick was preceded in death by his grandfather, Presley Isaac. He is survived by his Grandmother, Patricia Isaac of Sallisaw; wife Connie of Sallisaw; sons, Joshua, James both of Sallisaw and Joseph of Checotah; granddaughter, Lizabeth of Sallisaw; his father, Robert Charles of Poteau; mother Gay Smith of Sallisaw; six sisters, Robin Harris of Sallisaw, Patricia Drain of Bunch, Sherri Isaac of Poteau, Shalain Locust of Central, Vicky Rios of Charleston, Ark; Dawn Denise Copeland of Fort Smith, Ark.; three brothers, Merrit Isaac of Poteau; Tommy Lester of Spiro; Steven Fritts of Sallisaw; numerous other relatives, friends and loved ones.Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, at 2 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro, with Rev.
